Starting from faculty of law, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta’s commitment to conduct short term programs particularly for international students who wants to know more about the dynamic of islamic law in Indonesia. The programs offer various islamic issues which some speaker from several country that participate in this program.
Islam provides the basic guidance in all fields of human life. Human civilization with all of its activities keeps developing. Islamic law is currently faced with the contemporary issues that get more complex. Reactualization of Islamic law needs to be studied intensively, comprehensively, and instantaneously as an effort of development. Muamalat field is basically open and accommodating provided that it is based on Sharia principle for the welfare. Existence of the Islamic law that is contextual (dynamic) is required to respond the challenge of age.
Islam positions every interaction line of human life to be connected with vertical dimension as a means of worship. Qur’an and Hadith place human being on an honorable position. Values of justice, brotherhood, caring for each other, and respect on human dignity are some of fundamental values carried consistently in Islam. Islamic law as a system needs to be comprehensively understood. Dynamization of the Islamic law is not only in Indonesia, but also in many countries. The development must be welcomed positively, so Islamic law can be recognized and accepted more expansively.
