The Doctoral Program in Law at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (PDIH UMS) held a National Webinar with the theme “Law Enforcement in Indonesia from a Transcendental Perspective”. This activity was held on Wednesday some time ago, online (on the network) through the Zoom Meeting application and YouTube.

The resource persons in this webinar came from several agencies in Indonesia, including Brigadier General Pol. Prof. Dr. Chryshnanda Dwilaksana, M.Sc. as Professor of Police Science, Dr. Salman Luthan S.H., M.H. as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Sudjito, S.H., M.Sc. as the Ethics Council of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Absori, S.H., M. Hum. as Professor of the Faculty of Law, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Dr. Bernard L. Tanya, S.H., M.H. as Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Nusa Cendana, AKBP Bambang Yugo Pamungkas, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si as Head of Rolog Polda Metro Jaya.

Hope from Prof. Dr. Absori, SH, M.Hum as the head of the PDIH study program, as well as a professor at the Faculty of Law UMS, namely creating a condition that has been chosen for the Doctoral program in particular, trying to integrate the understanding of legal science in general with an understanding of law that is transcendental or more than that. ethical, moral and spiritual values. With this integration, the law is more meaningful, the law must be more open to ethical, moral and spiritual entities.

Through this webinar, which is an annual agenda for PDIH UMS students, it can provide a point of enlightenment so that it is hoped that legal knowledge is not something scary. Judging from the law enforcement carried out by the police, we often see that it smells of violence as well as its nature as a deterrent effect.

Meanwhile, “The main task of the police is to maintain security and public order, enforce the law and provide protection and services to the community, the police when carrying out their duties are required to have creative ideas or breakthroughs in facilitating services and law enforcement in the community,” said Bambang Yoga.

According to him, PDIH UMS tries to interpret the law with a more lively, more dynamic, more open, and happier perspective for law students. With the intention that the study of law is favored by other scholars. Students must write and publish so that their expertise will be recognized by the wider community.
