Conference Descriptions

The Covid-19 pandemic brought drastic changes to social life, where people tend to keep their distance, limit social activities, and follow health protocols. These changes in social behavior bring challenges to Indonesian law. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused issues on shifting law capacities. Given its spread scale, the law adaptation to the new Covid-19 challenge is a challenge faced by all legal systems without exception. The findings of this study reveal that there are common trends to the fragmented and uncoordinated national responses, caused by the common goal of minimizing the economically, lawfully and financially destructive effects of the pandemic.
This study’s objective is to identify a solution-based strategy of legal transformation and restructuration. In conclusion, the public’s basic tendencies and patterns towards law have been revealed. The pandemic that was followed by crises created a situation where society and the law transform, following social changes. Legal transformation and restructuration are challenges that emerge during and after the pandemic, as consequences of the occurring social changes.
Thus, the Faculty of Law, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta proudly presents an International Conference on Restructuring and Transforming Law (abbreviated ICRT LAW). This International conference discusses the legal transformation and restructuration during the New Normal era.
