University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) held a Ta’aruf Period for Welcoming New Students (Masta PMB) Wave 2 on Saturday, (18/9/2021).
A total of 337new students took part in Masta PMB wave 2 which was held online (on the network) through Zoom Meetings and YouTube Live Streams.
In his speech, the Chancellor of UMS, Prof. Dr. Sofyan Anif, M.Si said, UMS is one of the private universities that has been named the best private university in Central Java related to MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka).
“UMS has been named the best private university in Central Java related to the Merdeka Learning Campus,” said Anif.
Not only that, Anif also added that UMS has been ranked as the 14 best public and private universities in Indonesia according to the World University Ranking in QS.
“Not only national achievements, but we also achieved achievements at the international level,” he said.
In addition, Sofyan Anif also greeted several new students from various regions in Indonesia. Among them, Central Kalimantan, North Maluku, Papua, and Bangka Belitung.
The uniqueness is seen when the new students who come from various regions in Indonesia wear traditional clothes from their respective regions.
